The Inspiration

Nestled in the serene seaside village of Portrane, just north of Dublin, Ireland, my ceramics studio finds its home beside a quaint cottage, offering a tranquil retreat for artistic creation. Portrane boasts a 2-kilometer stretch of sandy beach, bordered by rolling sand dunes, providing a picturesque backdrop that fuels my creative spirit. 

My creative process is deeply intertwined with the rich tapestry of Portrane's natural beauty. The local flora and fauna serve as a wellspring of inspiration, guiding my transformation of humble clay into unique works of art. The sight of wild hares darting across the fields, the majestic presence of Highland cattle grazing peacefully, and the aromatic whispers from my herb gardens all infuse my pieces with a sense of place and wonder.

The coastal environment further enriches my creations. The diverse sea life and the ever-changing seascape, with its rhythmic tides and expansive horizons, are mirrored in the textures and forms of my ceramics. Each piece is a testament to Portrane's natural charm, embodying my slogan: "Mud to Art." Through my hands, the earth's raw materials are transformed into distinctive artworks, each telling a story of this unique locale.
